Yuko Hasegawa
Yuko HasegawaYuko pioneered the teaching of Japanese at the University of Bristol, where she eventually became co-ordinator for all courses on the subject, and has been giving lessons in her native language to undergraduates, postgraduates and adults there since 1998.

She has also taught at Badminton School and at Clifton College, and currently runs a Kids Japanese Club to help children to learn about the language and the culture. Yuko is also a fully-fledged committee member of the BATJ (British Association of Teaching Japanese as a Foreign Language).

As a sideline, Yuko also takes on varied interpreting and translating assignments for clients such as the BBC and the local health services.
Rihae Yuh
Rihae YuhRihae has been teaching in Bristol since 1997 in a variety of settings; teaching at the University of Bristol, the University of the West of England, the City of Bristol College and Clifton College before founding YU JLS with Yuko Hasegawa.

She has also spent time as an in-house language tutor to employees of corporations such as Panasonic, Roland and Boots.

Presently she is teaching Japanese children at the Japanese School in Wales, based in Cardiff, while also giving language instruction to pupils at GCSE, AS and A levels at Badminton School.
