From one of my favourite directors Wim Wenders made a film in Japan with one of my favourite actors! The film seems to be popular as it’s been on at Watershed for a long time. I went to see it as soon as it started but I didn’t need to rush as it continues on and on. Many of you might have seen it. It shows an everyday-life of a man who works as a toilet cleaner. Not much thing happens but somewhat very moving. The music is fantastic too. It was amusing to see all the different public toilets in Tokyo as well. The actor Yakusho Koji won the Best Actor Award at the 76th Cannes Film Festival with this role. He appears in many films such as “Eel”, “Shall We Dance?” and “Babel”. Have you seen any of his films? The director made many films and I’ve seen most of his earlier films. My favourite is “Paris, Texas”. I go to see it every time when it’s on at a cinema, even though I own a DVD!
